Dr. Jean-Philippe (JP) Gourdine was a Senior Research Associate at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), at the Oregon Clinical and Translational Institute (OCTRI) and part of Dr. Lisa Karstens’ lab from 2019 to 2021. He is now an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Lewis & Clark College
After his PhD in Marine Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (2006) from the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG, French Caribbean) and research and teaching positions in Glycobiology in France and the US (Martinique/Grenoble & Emory University, Atlanta, GA), he moved to Portland, Oregon in 2014, working as a scientific patent clerk at Kolisch-Hartwell then as a research associate in biological ontologies at OHSU.
Dr. Gourdine’s work in the Karstens’ lab included metadata and data standards in human urogenital microbiome (urobiome) research and investigating how urinary glycans are associated with the urobiome.
